David Maxwell Chartered Architects is an architectural studio and consultancy based in Northern Ireland with offices in Newry and Belfast.
Our ethos is one of fully understanding our clients' needs and sensitively translating these into designs of the highest standards.
We undertake a wide range of work including one-off bespoke houses, residential developments, commercial, industrial and community projects and we endeavour to ensure that all schemes are as sustainable and energy efficient as possible.
The practice provides a full and flexible service from concept design and planning through to completion and handover.
With careful consideration and attention to detail we deliver contemporary, elegant and practical solutions to suit your budget and timescale.
As well as the services mentioned above we can also provide our clients with the following:
The feasibility study focuses on answering the essential questions of "should we or can we proceed with the proposed project idea?" Determining early on if an idea will work or not saves time, money and heartache later.
For almost all types of building work, separate and independent permissions will be required for both Planning and Building Control approval. We have vast experience in dealing with the local councils and liaising with Planning and Building Control departments to ensure that applications are dealt with swiftly and successfully.
The intention of sustainable design is to reduce negative environmental impact through skilful and sensitive design. This helps create dynamic and innovative buildings that are ultimately respectful and mindful of their environmental & social settings.
With the advent of readily available home automation, we can ensure your new home is ready for you to make use of remote home heating, security, lighting, audio, distributed wifi, meters and more. Technology is constantly evolving and as such we endeavour to ensure that anything installed within the fabric of the property is industry standard and future proof.
Project management is a methodical approach to planning and guiding projects from start to finish. Typically projects are managed through key stages which may include feasibility, scheme design, detail design, tendering, on-site operations and after completion.
A listed building may not be altered, extended or demolished without special permission from the local Planning Authority. As architects with specialist conservation training we have experience in making Listed Building Consent applications and dealing with the Historic Building Unit within the Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA).
With experienced 3D visualisers we can bring projects to life. By producing 3D models from an early stage in the design process, we develop these into detailed interactive models to allow a virtual reality tour both inside and out of the proposed building. We can also produce high quality photo-renders of the proposed completed scheme.
Interior design is the art of enhancing the interiors to achieve a healthier and more aesthetically pleasing environment for the end user. We can plan the lighting, materials and textures to be used internally and with our 3D visualisations, can show how an interior space may look when completed.
We work within a network of associated professional services and consultants including quantity surveyors, civil and structural engineers, mechanical and electrical engineers and landscape architects.
Should your project require any of these additional services, we will ensure that the correct professionals are engaged to meet your needs.
